🏗️  Products: Manual Barriers & Columns

Q: What is the Manual Barrier used for?

A: The Manual Barrier (A-Frame design) is used to reserve a parking bay or prevent vehicle theft. When a vehicle tries to reverse over it, the bumper rides up the A-Frame until the wheels lift off the ground and traction is lost — the vehicle is effectively immobilised until you release the barrier.

Q: How is the Manual Barrier secured?

A: It folds flush with the ground and is locked when upright using a disc lock ( Included with the barrier). The barrier is concreted into the ground for maximum stability.

Q: What is the Manual Barrier made of?

A: It is made from heavy-duty 5mm thick hot-dipped galvanised steel, which provides excellent durability and corrosion resistance — ideal for outdoor use in SA’s climate.

Q: Where is the Manual Barrier typically used?

A: Common applications include: reserved parking bays, disabled parking, home driveways, gated complexes, flats and townhouses, motor dealerships, hospitals and medical practices, and on-street parking.

Q: What is the Manual Parking Column used for?

A: The Manual Parking Column is a sturdy upright post that can be locked in the upright position to block vehicle access, or lowered flat when access is permitted. It is ideal for home driveways, business entrances, and reserved bays.

Q: Can I install the Manual Barrier or Column myself?

A: Yes, both products are designed for DIY installation. You will need to drill holes and set the unit in concrete or attach it to your surface. Detailed installation instructions are included.

🏛️  Products: Bollards & Posts

Q: What is a Telescopic Bollard?

A: A Telescopic Bollard is a retractable steel post that is set into a ground sleeve concreted into the surface. When you want to block access, you raise and lock the bollard in the upright position. When vehicle access is needed, the bollard is unlocked and pushed down into the ground sleeve to sit flush with the surface.

Q: What are Telescopic Bollards made of and how strong are they?

A: Our Telescopic Bollards are made from 4mm gauge zinc-plated steel with a 100mm diameter. They weigh 19 kg and offer anti-ram-raid protection, making them suitable for commercial and residential security applications.

Q: What is the height of the Telescopic Bollard when raised?

A: The Telescopic Bollard stands 540mm (approximately 54cm) above the ground when in the upright/locked position.

Q: Does the Telescopic Bollard include a lock?

A: Yes, a disc lock is included with the Telescopic Bollard to secure it in the raised position.

Q: What is the difference between a Removable Bollard and a Telescopic Bollard?

A: A Removable Bollard is lifted completely out of its ground socket and stored separately when not in use. A Telescopic Bollard retracts down into its own sleeve in the ground, so it sits flush and does not need to be stored — it is more convenient for frequent use.

Q: What are Removable Security Posts used for?

A: Removable Security Posts are used to block driveways, parking bays, and entrances. They slot into a ground-mounted socket and can be lifted out and stored when vehicle access is needed. They are a simple, cost-effective access control solution.

🔩  Installation

The Automatic Parkguard, Manual Barrier, Columns, and Bollards all come with installation instructions. However, if you are not confident doing it yourself, most handy men will install with ease.

Q: What surfaces can the products be installed on?

A: Our products can be installed on concrete, asphalt, and brick paving. We stock the appropriate hardware. A few bricks needs to be removed for a concrete plinth to be cast for sturdy installations to be achived.

Q: What tools do I need for DIY installation?

A: You will typically need a drill with a masonry bit, a hammer, the supplied raw bolts/anchor bolts, and basic hand tools. The specific requirements are listed in the installation guide included with each product.
